We are just back from a bluegrass/honky tonk mix concert. It's one in a series of concerts at the Little Church in the Pines. However, the Little Church is undergoing renovations (YEA!)
so the concerts are being held at the schoolhouse. Marti has really worked on improving the acoustics so that this could happen. The schoolhouse works with the pews from the church, the organ hidden behind a screen (the screen is part of the acoustic addition).
This was the Billy Pilgrim band. No Billy was present, but the group was fun. Turned out the bass player, a beautiful young woman with a voice, was the star of the performance. Some of the stuff was not to my taste. There was an electronic gizmo which they called a 'steel guitar.' And an amplified guitar which I would have done without. However, by and large it was great.
For the second half of the performance the pews were moved and the rug rolled so there could be dancing. In my, old lady, opinion that was a mistake because the would be dancers and would
not be dancers who were in the back talked so loud you could hear what they were saying and they continued to talk or yell, occasionally, though out the latter half of the concert. I thought the dancing was fine, but the talking was rude.
Ariel was here this past week, but Keegan was at music camp. It'll be interesting to hear about that.
Ariel went to day care on Friday because they were going to a roller skating place and she wanted to do that.
Monday and Wednesday we did projects (painting glass, and play-dough). We also did some reading, walking and playing. She keeps me moving, but I love it. We all missed Keegan.
