Watch out for large snakes!

We almost lost Gabby, but at the last minute Connie
grabbed her while I just wept.....duh!

Gabby and I met Connie at the museum this morning.
We were happy we had decided to meet at 9 AM.
By the time we left at 2:30PM the place was a
mad house.  Even Gabby commented that she was
glad we'd missed the mob in the morning.

Gabby will be 13 on Saturday.  She and I are
going shopping for her birthday tomorrow.  And
then Robert and I are meeting Gabby and her
folks for birthday lunch on Saturday.

Robert and I went the VA on Tuesday.  Robert has
an infection on/in one finger and the doctor was
very concerned about that because of Robert's
lack of an immune system.  Penicillin was prescribed
and soaking three times a day.  Robert reports it is
doing better.  We return in 3 weeks, sooner if the
infection flares or gets worse.  At that time the
doctor is planning to prescribed another dose of
chemo.

Last Saturday Robert and I drove to the Western
Disposal Company organic site.  We were pulling
a trailer and hoping to pick up compost.  We
hit the timing perfectly; we pulled in, followed
directions around a pile of compost and met
a front-end-loader.  He dropped his load into
the trailer and away we went.

Since then I spend an hour or so each day racking
off the mulch and spreading the compost on a
section of garden and then laying the mulch back
over the compost.

Martha and Gabby planted lots of bulbs last
fall and I have been amazed to see them popping
up in my flower garden and lawn.  I had thought
the rodents had dug them all up, but I guess they
planted enough so the rodent could have some,
but left many behind. I'm anxious to see what
they will look like when they bloom.
