van mosquito curtain. The other side is going
to be really tricky. But, hope to get that
done before we leave.
Last Saturday was the big Political day. I
went to the Democratic State Assembly as a
Delegate for Michael Bennet. He got trounced,
ouch! But I have hopes he'll overcome and
win in the Primary in August.
The Assembly was held at the Convention Center
in Broomfield. It is on its third name. The
current name is 1st Bank Event Center. It is
very similar to the event center in Colorado
Springs where the 2008 Convention was held.
This time, the Dems had their act together. The
registration was well organized and I was able
to breeze through and get my credentials with
no line at all. In 2008 I stood in line for
two hours! to get registered.
As in 2008 the noise level was right up there
and there was no air moving so after an hour
or so it was very hot. We were all crammed
in with no wiggle room, but one could get up
and leave to get air in between speeches and
or during speeches.
Now it's time to get ready for our trip to
Wichita to see Connie and her family. Meara
graduates from high school on Saturday. We'll
arrive on Monday and help prolong the festivities.
Robert went to an Open House at the Tebo Garage
last week. It was a charity fund drive for the
"I have a dream" foundation. He had a good time
meeting and greeting. He is there today and took
along a movie of a Model-T factory. It's a neat
movie. They are driving Model-Ts today.
Yesterday we went to an Open House at the Schoolhouse.
Our road is being paved this summer. That means they
are replacing three culverts. They estimate that each
replacement will take a minimum of a 3-day road closure.
We are lucky, only one of them impacts us. Some folks
and the bus are in trouble as is the fire department.
It'll be great to have it done, but an annoying process.
