We've arrived
I have been remiss about keeping up my blog. We left Boulder last Friday about noon and started out on route US 36 through the mid-west. It takes much longer that way because of all the stop/go signs through all the little towns. We do it, each time, thinking it won't take that much longer because Robert stays under 60 mph when he's driving the van. But it does take longer.
We spent three days getting across Kansas, Missouri, and Indiana/Illinois. We picked up I-70 somewhere along Indiana or Illionois, I can'g remember which. In any case, at the end of each day we were exhausted and went to bed after dinner and then a walk. We usually didn't quit until about 7PM so dinner was pretty late. The whole trip is pretty much a blur.
It has been a long, and tiring journey, but it is good to have arrived. Sue came home from work
shortly after we arrived. We chatted for a bit to catch up and then she fixed us a lovely salad and crab cakes for supper. We didn't stay up very much after dinner, but it had cooled off enough so we felt we'd be comfortable sleeping in the Van.
This morning we waited for Keating and family to arrive and they did, but it wasn't until about 2 PM. They are all tired from their journey although it helped that they arrived yesterday and spent the night at a friend of Keating's in DC. A pool was the star attraction for Tamara.
James is a chunk, like Aspen, he is tall, but not slender. He walks everywhere and was a bit shy with us, but hopefully that'll change.
We'll be here a few days and then to the beach.
