and of politics.
I spent some time at Polis headquarters stuffing
envelopes.
On Saturday I went to the Congressional District 2
Assembly and Convention. We'd be told to be there
by 8:30 AM in order to be seated by 9:00 AM. Then
the alternates could be seated. Sounded good.
Gretchen Defenderfer, from Gold Hill, and I arrived
there (in Westminster) at 8:15 AM. Already there
was a long line from the school and around the
corner. It was cold and windy, not pleasant to
be forced to stand outside and wait. Wait we did.
The doors were not opened to let us in until after
9 o'clock. And, of course by the time we got
in there was such a crowd in the lobby it was
difficult to see where to go next. Boulder Conty
is the largest county in the district so it took
us longer to get registered than others, but we
finally got in and had seats by 10:30. Then the
alternates had to be seated. The Assembly which
was to start at 10 finally got started about noon.
But, for a political junky it was all fun. Lots
of gabbing about the candidates and the delgates
to be elected to go to the National Convention and
so on.
The Convention was in the afternoon and that is
where we elected our nominees to be delegates
to the national convention and also the electoral
candidates.
All was over by 3:30 PM. As we came out of the
building we discovered snow was added to the
blowing. We were glad we were headed for the
car and that it wasn't very far away.
This morning while I was making our bed, a wolf
came down off the mountain and across the back
end of our patio area. I yelled for Robert
to come quick, but the wolf was moving fast
and Robert only got a glimpse of a tail. I
really couldn't believe it could be a wolf, but
it was too big to be a coyote. We have seen
large "dog" tracks in the snow fairly often this
past winter. Now we think we know to whom they
belonged.
I went on the internet to see if I could find a
wolf picture to verify what I saw and I found
one that looked VERY much like what I saw. I attach
same.
