We slowly drove up the coast of Maine today and stopped for lunch at a restaurant
along the coast. We split a Lobster roll and unlike the one I had on the Cape which
was a lobster spread, this one had two whole claws in it and I only had half of one.
Robert had the other half and I assume he had 2 claws in his, too. I also ordered
a couple pounds of steamed clams to take with us and we had those warmed up in
a little butter and lemon juice for supper. Those with a big green salad, on the side
made a great supper. We then went into the Old Orchard amusement park. One
of the delights of Robert's life. We had ice cream first off since we had waited
until we came to the park to have dessert. Then we strolled around the park and
watched the scene. I was amazed that there were so many really young children,
basically babies being pushed in strollers. The lights and noise were way to
much for me and certainly seemed too much for little ones, but then I'm just a
great grandma. What do I know about modern kids.
It was very hot today, extremely hot. I didn't think to take a jacket or sweater
when we went to the park and it got quite chilly which gave me a good excuse to
buy a hoody. It felt good.
We have no schedule except we have an appointment in Burlington, VT to
get a replacement for the "key" to the VAN that I lost. We'll plan on getting
to Renee's late on the 14th and get the key on the 15th.We'll stop and see
Sue after we visit Renee, I think, but that all may change.
