Old Orchard campground, Old Orchard, Maine

July 8, 2015
We slowly drove up the coast of Maine today and stopped for lunch at a restaurant
along the coast.  We split a Lobster roll and unlike the one I had on the Cape which
was a lobster spread, this one had two whole claws in it and I only had half of one.
Robert had the other half and I assume he had 2 claws in his, too.   I also ordered
a couple pounds of steamed clams to take with us and we had those warmed up in
a little butter and lemon juice for supper.  Those with a big green salad, on the side
made a great supper.  We then went into the Old Orchard amusement park.  One
of the delights of Robert's life.  We had ice cream first off since we had waited
until we came to the park to have dessert.  Then we strolled around the park and
watched the scene.  I was amazed that there were so many really young children,
basically babies being pushed in strollers.  The lights and noise were way to
much for me and certainly seemed too much for little ones, but then I'm just a
great grandma.  What do I know about modern kids.

It was very hot today, extremely hot.  I didn't think to take a jacket or sweater
when we went to the park and it got quite chilly which gave me a good excuse to
buy a hoody.  It felt good.

We have no schedule except we have an appointment in Burlington, VT to
get a replacement for the "key" to the VAN that I lost.  We'll plan on getting
to Renee's late on the 14th and get the key on the 15th.We'll stop and see
Sue after we visit Renee, I think, but that all may change.

July 7th
We went to Isabel's museum yesterday.

Today we headed for the coast. But I discovered my key to the van is missing. I spent a while with Google to find a dealer on our route who could replace it. For a modest fortune I shall have it replaced in Burlington while we are viewing Renée.

We continued on our way, mostly along the Merrimack river. However, at one point I, as we are moving, got up to try to rearrange my cupboard to stop the rattle. As I was doing this, suddenly a yellow pedestrian light went on and immediately a bunch of kids jumped in front of the van. Robert slammed on the brakes and I flew, to land with a thud. It all happened so fast that I didn't know what happened. I didn't pass out, but I have some real beauty bruises on both legs and my left wrist. Basically, I am fine, but was really shook! !! For that reason we didn't reach the ocean, but at my request we stopped at 3:30.  Actually, we probably saved money because this on cost less than  $40.00 including tax.
Isabel Gardner Museum.
That is what we did today.   Thanks to my handicap placard we found a parking place.  The museum is near Fenway park and it was a game day.Official parking for the game was available for  $29.00.
The museum which started out just as her house has beenexpanded so it was a little difficult to see the way it was. That was a disappointment.

Liz took me grocery shopping this morning. We are set for 4-5 days.
This afternoon I put my foot up and read. Somehow I have injured my foot. I have a bad bruise on the area where the toes hook on to the foot.I bought new socks while we were shopping because all my socks are to thick for my swollen foot.
I guess we will leave in the morning and head for Boston.
