This was set to be a very busy week. Bud Wheelon called on Tuesday to say his grandson, Eric was driving to Boston and would be overnight at St. George,Utah and then on Wednesday night he'd like to stay in Boulder. Could we put him and his friend, Blake, up for the night. Of course we could do that. On Wednesday we heard from Eric that he was 24 hours behind. Bud later relayed that Blake had taken the drivers test and flunked, so they had to wait a day for him to try again. So we expected them on Thursday. On Thursday Eric called to say they had arrived in St. George, Utah to be informed that you couldn't rent a room in Utah if you were under 21-years-of-age. They had driven all night until they got to Grand Junction, Colorado. Now they were rested and heading out, but were going to continue on since they were already a day behind. So no Eric.
Chris Wenrich was due to arrive on Saturday and she did. She and I have been doing a lot of talking about her family and general family history. I had invited her to come when I was in Rochester because of her mother, Jeanne's, death. She had been somewhat estranged from her family for years and I had talked her in to going back at the time I was there. She had planned to visit her family now. So, she decided to come visit us now. It's been a good visit. Tomorrow we'll take a walk and then go to NCAR and then perhaps shopping at Orvis in Boulder.
Today we walked up the road to the glass house and then came back and drove to Gold Hill and then to Big Horn Mountain where we walked up to the crows nest. Later she and I walked up Four Mile Canyon Drive to the dirt road.
Ariel is on a field trip tomorrow so only Keegan will be here, leaving Chris and me free to play.
