A few weeks back Viki and Vernon came by to talk
with us. They felt it was too much for us to try
to move and sell the house at the same time.
Implying, of course, that we are too old for such.
They assured us they would take care of the
house even through the winter, if need be, so
that we could move and get settled and then
worry about getting the house ready to sell
and putting it on the market.
What a relief. Immediately the pressure
was off. Moving is hard and painful
enough.
This weekend Carl, Martha, Gabby, Robyn
and Vernon showed up early Saturday
morning to "move the solar system."
While Martha and Gabby packed all the
file cabinets on the main floor plus
several other boxes of stuff as well, the
it all. Batteries in Vernon's truck;
16 batteries at 160 pounds each! The 15
solar panels were loaded into the trailer.
After lunch we all went to the 76St. house
and Martha, Robyn, Vernon and Carl unloaded
all that stuff! What a tremendous amount of
work was accomplished!
overcome.
We all returned for dinner..both lunch
and dinner were buffets. The dining
room is crowded with boxes such
that only 4 chairs are left to sit at
the table. We all ate in the living
room.
I served lasagna, Caesar salad, and
fresh-baked French bread for dinner.
All disappeared except a very small
amount of lasagna. And, no wonder,
considering all the work that was
done.
Martha handed out Ibuprofen after
dessert.
Robyn announced this morning that she
slept very well, thanks to Martha's distribution
