We left San Diego and ended up at our friends' house in
Santa Barbara. We did stop in LA to visit the Tar Pits.
We spent several days in Santa B., but didn't do anything
except walk on the beach and visit with Cicely and Bud.
We left their Sunday, the 10th, and headed north. We
stopped overnight at Pinnacles National Monument.
On Monday they were going to have a big celebration.
The Monument was to become a National Park and,
among others, Ken Salazar was to be their to speechify.
We didn't stick around.
We contacted my niece Rebecca and grandson Ryan.
We're staying in Berkeley at Rebecca's and last night
went out to dinner with Ryan and Elizabeth. Ryan
picked a fine restaurant. We started out with grilled
Octopus. I had grilled halibut with baby clams..yummy!
Robert had a hamburger...something for everyone.
We returned to Rebecca's and had dessert with
Rebecca, Dan and the twins, Sophia and Sarah.
It was a lovely evening.
We have taken a walk this morning and are now
reading a computing.
We'll have dinner with the Denison-Johnsons this
evening.
