So..it's been deterined I shall have surgery on Monday.
It is by-pass of one blocked aorta and one re-placed
valve. The by-pass requires the whole chest to be
split and opened1 If it were just the valve, that
would not be the case.
I'll be in the ICU for about 3 days and in the hospiital
from 5-7 days. If I'm not ready to be on my own
by seven days I'll be sent to re-hab. Hopefully,
I'll be ok to come home. I've engaged home health
care to be there for me from next week on....
I'll be uncomfortable for quite awhile., months
maybe. Mu chest will not be healed by the time
I get home. I hope that within three
months it'll betotaly healed. By, the same token
it'll be really, really uncomfortable for months.
