Ariel finishing off a snow monster
Here we are three days into the new year already.
We had a quiet new year's eve at home and celebrated
the new year's Minneapolis time. New year's day we
went to Viki's for brunch. She served a fabulous
brunch with crepes with all sorts of goodies to
have inside the crepes, followed by an apple/Carmel
iron skillet dessert that was also delicious. Viki
assured us none of this food had any calories, of
course.
The rest of this week Ariel will be here. She
and I chopped ice yesterday for our out door
activity. We had tried to get the little red
wagon, loaded with groceries, through the small
opening between snow banks beyond the big gate.
We did manage by turning the wagon at quite a
tilt. Now it is more than wide enough, until
the next snow when it'll be filled in again.
Today we had planned on going swimming this
morning on our way home from the pick up
point, but the "kid" pool was closed until
10:30. I didn't feel like hanging around town
that long so we came home. We'll go tomorrow
after my hair appointment. Just the thing to
do after getting ones hair done, but c'est la
vie.
Ariel watched some TV and then we both started
to watch "Charlotte's Web," but Ariel seemed
bored and depressed so we found more interesting
things to do until lunch.
After lunch we made a snow dog and a snow monster,
actually three snow monsters. One up by the patio
and two down by the clothes line. It turned out
that the temperature was about 40, but the snow
was still hard to pack, so we were disappointed
with the size of our creatures.
The day has been really cloudy and dark as you
may tell from the photos.
