thought nothing could beat my 70th, but my
80th was even better.
We, Robyn, Jeanne, Carl, Martha, Ariel and
I went to dinner at the Greenbrier. That
turned out to be a bit disappointing because
they were doing "Denver Open Table" special.
They had overbooked. We were paying the
regular price so it was a bit hard when the
waiter continued to make excuses for his
lack of attention, the long time between
courses, etc...and blamed it on the "Open
Table." But, despite that we did have a
grand time.
I have a zillion b-day cards and another
b-day coming up with my book club ladies
next Wednesday.
Jeanne, here for almost a week, from
Minneapolis. We had a good time. We went
shopping followed by lunch at Laudisio's
which was fun.
She also lengthend the sleeves of a jacket
that I am very fond of, but always felt
self conscious because the leaves were too
short. I think they were meant to be, but
I didn't like them that way. Jeanne fixed
them; made it look easy, but I'm sure it
wasn't.
It was hard to leave her at the bus station,
but she'll be back sometime..
Robyn couldn't stay long. She left Friday
from Crested Butte, spent 3 hours at the
western end of Monarch Pass waiting for the
road crew to make it safe from avalanches.
She gave them 15 minutes more, and then she
was going to give up. Fortunately, they
opened the road and she came on, arriving
here about midnight. We had already gone
to bed. She had to leave again on Sunday.
It was too short, but we'll be going to
Crested Butte in the not too distant
future. That makes it easier.
