Winter is with us.

The two images were taken this morning.

I went out to get the paper and to raise the flag.  It was so beautiful I retrieved my camera and took these two pictures.  The top is of the side of the house, taken from the north.  The lower one is also of the side of the house also taken from the north.

I have returned from a visit with my primary care physician this
morning. Good news.  I feel really well, but he had been
concerned about my kidney function. The lab tests came back
with good news; my kidneys are OK and my cholesterol levels
are really good, too!

The winter wonderland remains, as you can see from the attached
photos. I was out early this morning to get the paper and raise the
flag.  There was no sign of the sun then nor now.

This past week I have gone to the Fraiser Meadows Wellness
Center (FM) three times.  On Mondays I work with a physical therapist.
She is hoping her therapy may loosen up my very stiff right hip joint.
We'll see.  Last week I thought I was in deep trouble when I left, but
the next day that joint felt better.  However that didn't last long.
It's really sore today.  I see her this afternoon.  I may have been over
doing it on the machines.  I think I'll cut back a little next week.

This week Tuesday - Friday we have to go to the VA for Robert's
infusions.  I called Ed, who lives about a mile from the VA, to let
him know I might be using his driveway again.  He was really nice,
actually sounded happy to have me park in his drive.

The other big news of this past week is that I bought a Smart Phone.
Carl, Martha and Gabby picked us up last Sunday and we went to the
Verizon store.  Carl showed me two phones he would recommend.
I ended up with a Samson S4. Now the big step of learning to use
at least some of its features.  I can make phone calls and answer
phone calls.  I haven't tried texting yet.  I haven't used the GPS
component either, nor much of anything else.  It'll be a while
before I am very competent with it.

I continue to work with the DA's office over our disputed medical
bill from February, 2013.  Cigna has also been working on my case
and sent a copy of the law to the people who are hassling us.  I shall
send a copy of that information to the bill Collector.  It was
obvious talking with them that they do not correspond with the medical
center in Redding.  All they want to do is "collect the money."

We'll see how that all comes out, eventually.
