We are staying in one of 2 guest suites
at Cloverwood, where Jack Wenrich lives.
It is very pleasant and everyone is very
welcoming. Robert just said how pleasant
everything is and yet he knows how
miserable he would be were we to live
in such a place. I've always known
that and reassured him. By the same
token having some one do the
cleaning and cooking most, but not
all the time would be very nice.
Robert could probably adjust to
Longmont, but not to a "retirement"
home.
We had a delicious gourmet dinner here
last night.
Today we went to Ontario Beach Park and
wandered around. It was a perfect day,
about 70 degrees and sunny. The Merry-
Go-Round and the old organ are still
going. It is a mechanized piece.
I'm not sure how it works, but it sounds
like an organ and you can see some of
the parts moving.
We had "lunch" at Abbott's Frozen Custard
stand, an institution. Robert and I had
frozen custard and Jack a milk shake.
The drive home was through Durand Eastman
park where, as a child, we often had
picnics.
In the evening we went to Hawthrone's for
dinner. A restaurant I found in the AAA
book. It was great!
Tomorrow we meet Darwin and Sharon at
Crescent Beach Hotel.
