Politics

Wow, how time flies...

Since I last wrote I have been more involved in politics.
Including lending our truck to the Polis campaign to transport
a very large propane grill to the Adams County Fair Grounds for
the Adams County Democractic Assembly. Unfortunately, they
allowed a very inexperienced driver to drive the truck and
she managed to destroy the passenger-side door. They are
getting it fixed and we should get it back next week some time.
I feel badly because I lent it to say money and now it is
costing, I'm sure, a lot more than if they rented a truck!

Yesterday, Robert and I went to town to check out the Honda
Civic Hybrid and the Prius. We were very impressed with the
Honda, but the seats were very uncomfortable. I couldn't
imagine driving it cross-country which we may need to do if
gas prices continue to rise. We may never take the CrownV
across country again, although it is very comfortable.
In any case we ended up buying a Prius. It'll be delivered
later this week.

Viki called last night, she has had strep, but told us of
the Walmart Clinic at 29th street FlatIrons Crossing Mall.
She walked in on Saturday afternoon, was tested for Strep and
test came out positive so they gave her a prescription for
antibiotics on the spot. Good to know in an emergency. She
also called to see if she could get a ride to the County
Assembly and Convention on Saturday. She'll take a bus
to Boulder and we'll go from there. I'm waiting to hear
what she decides.

I just finished calling 25 delegates and/or alternates to
encourage them to vote for Jared at the Assembly.

I have purchased a manual treadmill. It is set up in the
bedroom. The first time I tried it I could barely do
3 minutes. That was last Thursday. I'm up to 8 minutes and
hope to get up to 15 very soon. I walk on it twice a day.
It is so much more pleasant than going out into the snow
and cold and the narrow street with snow drifts on the side.
The incline is 17% which is steeper than any of our walks,
but I don't have to run! I walk at about 2 miles/hour.
